What to do with 8 hours in Phuket

Hi, I will be arriving in Phuket airport and have 8 hours of waiting time before my connecting flight. I would like to have relaxing lunch, visiting some shops and have a good massage. Anyone have any suggestion where I should go? Do I have to travel into Phuket town? If so how much is fare on taxi or bus to get to Phuket town and how long the journey take. Thanks in advance.
