| Do you think a airline lounge is worth the money?
Is a membership to an airline lounge worth it?

I am Novell CNE and I love being able to sit at a desk with an ergonomic chair and surf the net or log into the servers from the airport. I also like chairs which are far more comfortable than the chair provided at the gate and this may sound a little silly but, I enjoy the snacks becuse they tend to hit the spot after a long day at work.

I am a member of the US Airways Club and it great for my needs. I personally like the cappuccino and the neat cookies they serve. I also a enjoy the beers they offer and the chairs which in my opinion are really comfy. I also use one time passes to Continental Airline President Clubs. |

Well i've never experienced the U.S. airways lounge. Though i have noticed they dont have many locations. Anyway i've only been to worldclubs and presidents clubs. Judging from them, it's not worth it.

Yes it is true that US Airways Clubs are few and far between, but, the clubs are nice and usually well stocked. I am a member for 4 years now and I must say that the services offered at the Club are far better than that experienced at the ticket counter. When I request and exit row or a bulk head I am usually given it as opposed to using the ticket counter when I was once told that I am lucky that the airline is flying and that I have a seat.

Sure is. It's free during an upgraded flight and I've never used all the free passes Continental sends out every year. Would I pay for the lounge? No. (But then I'm a confirmed cheapskate.) |

I thought the president's club was only for international BusinessFirst flights. Not for domestic free upgraded flights. Also if you WOULDN'T pay for it then you voted wrong.

Continental presidents clubs are only available to members, American Express Platinum/Centurion cardholders traveling on CO, Priority Pass holders, and passengers in BusinessFirst. As far as voting, it seems that your two options are too specific and don't necessairly reflect anything but extreme opinions. Personally, I'm a member of the Presidents Club and have been for several years. I'm considering joining Delta's Crown Room Club for access to clubs at JAX, TPA, and PHX. |

It's well worth the money it costs me . . . nothing. I live in Guam and my flights all turn out to be international. I don't know anything about domestic flights . . . when I was doing that that I flew myself.

I fly from BDL-->PBI and the Crown Rooms at BDL and ATL were not as nice as those at US Airways or Continental. They are comfortable and large but that is where it ends. The food is only a snack mix and they do not offer anything more substantial. It was a waste of $50.00

Second that for the Crown Room in RDU. I had a six hour wait there on my last flight through and badly needed to get online to do work. Not anywhere close to worth the $50 I paid in ameneties, but $50 was cheap to allow me to have a productive day online. It was sub-par, worse than even the SFO Continental President's Club (which is the worst P-Club I've been in). With nearly every flight I take passing through IAH or EWR, having a President's Club membership is absolutely worth the cost. |

| Worst CO clubs? ATL and LAX are pretty shabby. At least LAX has restrooms, though. It's ridiculous that IAH D doesn't have restrooms. Best CO clubs? AUS, no question. IAH C South is pretty nice and the showers are great, but it's still not even in the same league as AUS. The JAL Sakura club at Narita for BusinessFirst passengers is quite nice, too. |

Worst Clubs: US Airways PBI/SFO Best Clubs: US Airways PHL/CLT/BWI/DCA Worst Clubs: Continental Airlines ATL/SJU The lack of restrooms at the ATL clubs is a disgrace, why do I pay all that money to use a regular restroom? Best Clubs: Continental Airlines EWR(The New One)/EWR(The Large One Upstairs)/SFO/BOS/DCA/LGA/FLL/ORD |

After the long haul from landside to the club, the last thing you want to do is fight the people traffic to/from the restrooms and the gate.

I like EWR(The Large One Upstairs) more than EWR(The New One). The open-middle design just pleases me to no end. It's very classy. It's always nice when my departure gate puts me closer to that one. I've got to disagree on SFO, though. I hate the SFO P-Club. It's outside of security, so you have to leave 45 minutes before your flight "just in case" and it's so close to the check-in desks that the noise and commotion from outside leak in. |

I am not sure that I have noticed the noise you seem to complain about, however, I do agree that it is annoying to have the PClub outside security. I will point out however, it seems that Delta also has their Crown Room outside of security. One thing that annoys me about Continental is that they do not use glassware unless you buy a drink. |

Coffee mugs are the exception, of course. This is a recent development, though; I remember drinking water and orange juice out of glasses as recently as a few months ago, I think.

Yes, that is correct, unless you purchase a drink from the bar they will not offer you a real glass. Coffee mugs are the exception which are placed by the coffee service. Up until recently they used to also offer real china to place your bagel or muffin, now it is plastic. I have also noticed that they no longer offer different types of muffins, just blueberry now. |

Drinks at a President's Club are provided free of charge (although there is a tip jar).
