Ethical hotels

Hi everyone, I'm working with a group in Australia at the moment that is trying to set up standards to certify hotels as being ethical. The stuff I'm looking at now has to do with the way hotels treat their staff and how they treat the environment. I thought this is kind of cool, as I often make decisions on hotels based on whether they seem to genuinely care about their staff and have a real commitment to reducing their environmental footprint. I think having a ratings system on ethical behaviour would be really useful to me, but how do other people feel? Do these things matter to you when you're choosing a hotel? Do you think a ratings system is a good idea? cheers, Andrew
