| Anyone ever tried a speech-to-speech translator?
it sounds like a GREAT idea, but has voice recognition technology come that far yet?

I didn't even know that such a thing existed. Got any URLs or pointers so I can look at the state of this technology?

| A Link....
I found this at: http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Master Too bad they don't have a way to try it out on the site... Just say one of 3,000 travel phrases in English, and the translator immediately speaks the words back to you in French, Spanish, or German. You can also enter your phrase with the scroll buttons. Listen and perfect your own vocabulary and inflection, or let the translator speak directly to people you need to address. State-of-the-art voice-recognition technology. Indispensable in hotels, shops, and taxis. 200-page phrase book and headset microphone. Pocket-size. If my link doesn't work, just go to nationalgeographic.com/store and pop "translate" into the search box. |
