AirTran Airways Named Best Low-Fare Airline By Entrepreneur Magazine

Source: Comtex News Network (PR Newswire via Comtex)

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), in the April 2005 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine, is named as the Best Low-Fare Airline. This is the fifth time that AirTran Airways has received this distinction from the prestigious business publication.

Entrepreneur Magazine highlights AirTran Airways by stating that, "Over the years, AirTran has followed a smart -- but slow -- path to success in the airline industry, winning over value-conscious business travelers and companies fed up with major airlines. That's because of its low fares and common-sense approach to air travel."

"AirTran Airways is honored that Entrepreneur Magazine has recognized what our customers already know -- that we are the best low-fare airline available today," said Joe Leonard, AirTran Airways' chairman and chief executive officer. "Our combination of Business Class on every flight, XM Satellite Radio service, industry-leading frequent-flier program and consumer-friendly website provide our customers with the ultimate travel experience. The 6,000 Crew Members of our airline work hard every day to keep AirTran Airways at the top of this competitive industry."

Entrepreneur's Business Travel Awards were created 12 years ago to help cost-conscious entrepreneurs find the most bang for their business travel bucks. The companies recognized in this special issue offer the best travel products and services for entrepreneurs at the most affordable prices.

AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 6,000 friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 500 daily flights to more than 40 destinations. The airline's hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where it is the second largest carrier. AirTran Airways recently added the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-700 aircraft to create America's youngest all-Boeing fleet. The airline is also the first carrier to install XM Satellite Radio on a commercial aircraft. For reservations or more information, visit http://www.airtran.com (America Online Keyword: AirTran). Honestly everyone really needs to drop the "low-fare" part and just call them an airline. ALSO...they need to add some prefix to the "legacy" (if you will) airlines. In my opinion there is no such thing as low-fare anymore. low-fare is the normal fare.

I wish I wasn't a 3hr drive from Cincinnati/northern kentucky airport. They always have really low fares outta there for delta probably cause it's one of their other main hubs other than Atlanta if i'm not mistaken

Airtran is a great airline. Their arrival in Sarasota has dropped ticket prices to Atlanta on Delta by more than half. Even better we get to fly to New York and Boston in November.
