AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today announced that it plans to track one of the most storied aviators of all time, Santa Claus, as he completes his annual reindeer-powered flight around the world.

Inspired by the recent success of NASA's Mars Rover Mission, AirTran Airways' System Operations Control (SOC) center in Orlando, has developed its own space-aged reporting device. AirTran Airways' Satellite-based Aviation Navigational Tracking Apparatus, or S.A.N.T.A., will enable the low-fare airline to keep the world abreast of Santa Claus' holiday adventure.

The airline's delightfully fun, albeit completely fictitious reports, will be distributed via national newswire on December 24 at 10:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. EST.

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), is happy to present its first of three Satellite-based Aviation Navigational Tracking Apparatus (S.A.N.T.A.) reports. The following information regarding Santa Claus' international flight is based on data invented at AirTran Airways' System Operations Control (SOC) center in Orlando: * First confirmed satellite data clocked Santa and his team of reindeer cruising just below the speed of light as they passed through the Bering Strait en route to the Oceania region. * After some island hopping in Guam and Fiji, Santa's super-charged sleigh sailed throughout New Zealand. There Santa met up with the Easter Bunny, who was on holiday in Queensland, for a quick bungee- jumping session. * An eyewitness account confirmed that Santa and crew joined some local surfers for a late night beach party just south of the Great Barrier Reef before cutting across the outback en route to Malaysia. * Analysis of satellite patterns show that Santa's team of reindeer showed off their precision by performing a geometrically-perfect figure eight around the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lampur. * The Jolly group also brought their holiday cheer to the island nation of Japan, visiting a Tokyo-based karaoke parlor for a round of Japanese Christmas carols.

Please keep an eye out for the next S.A.N.T.A. update, scheduled to cross the national wire at 3:00 p.m. EST. Media Contact: Tad Hutcheson tad.hutcheson@airtran.com 678.254.7442 Judy Graham-Weaver judy.graham-weaver@airtran.com 678.254.7448
