| Fearful First Flight
I am flying AirTran from LGA to ATL on Tuesday, August 30 and I am nervous about the flying conditions and the effects of hurricane Katrina. I have read the safety discussions on these forums and feel a bit more relaxed. However, I am nervous about the bad weather and want to find out about AirTran's weather safety precautions hopefully before my flight.

I just got back from a trip from FLL to ATL then onto CAK. Everyone's flight was cancelled up the east coast so everyone was stuck and they said it was due to weather. So I got out my laptop at FLL cause they have wireless internet and looked at the weather.com and didn't see really anything that a airliner could not avoid or fly through. This just isn't AirTran it's all the airlines if they feel the weather is to bad to take off then you won't leave the ground and will be sleeping in the airport until further notice like I had to

I was the Captain of the early morning LGA to ATL flt tuesday morning. I thought it was a very smooth flight, we were 20 minutes early. Most People don't understand weather and the news media does'nt help. The last 5 minutes we pick up a few bumps. That was due to the wind passing over the uneven surface of the earth. I hope you enjoyed your experience, and will fly with us again.
