AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI), today reported its highest passenger traffic, available seat miles (ASMs) and passengers enplaned in the company's history.
AirTran Airways' traffic, measured by revenue passenger miles (RPMs), grew by 23.7 percent, to nearly 750 million RPMs, on an increase of 19.7 percent in capacity, based on available seat miles (ASMs). March's load factor, also a record high for the month of March, reached 75.7 percent, compared to 73.3 percent in March 2003. The airline enplaned 1,153,583 passengers in the month of March, a 16.6 percent increase over March 2003, and a record for the month of March, as well as a company record.
