Do you think Boeing should have dropped the Scramjet?

Northrop Grumman has thousands of vacancies of jobs and Boeing is laying off. Like we need more f-16s in the world.. And the new airbus are almost void of a pilot and that isnt even a step in the forward momentum of flying. It is more like Flight simulator from Microsoft then moving avaition ahead. Anyone views are welcomed.

I think that it's a real shame that we won't see the Boeing sonic cruiser in the skies anytime soon. It would have been the first major innovation in commercial air travel in decades. The time saving for passengers and the cost saving for airlines (route optimization with faster aircraft, etc) would be truly significant.

The new Airbus isn't a huge leap in technology or incredible innovation, but it the expected capacity is noteworthy. The only problem is that airlines seem to be more successful with smaller, more frequent flights rather than daily massive service. For example, several 767 and 777 flights a day to London from Houston rather than a daily A3xx flight that would make scheduling and connections less convenient.

The Sonic Cruiser would have appealed to only a small segment of the travel population...businesspeople who want to cross oceans quickly. With the economy the way it is, companies just aren't willing to spend a lot on high-end travel anymore. The vast majority of air travellers would have no use for a Sonic Cruiser, and would not want to spend extra money to cut a few hours of travel time (it wasn't even supersonic!)
